A meeting, an opportunity, a trigger and a passion for a know-how, a favourite material was born. The Sarreguemines Confluences destination has several talented craftsmen and designers. Their meeting plunges you into a sensory universe where everything is handmade. Today, it is Kristine Gevorgyan, a florist specialising in the creation of original personalised compositions and settings, who opens the doors of her new shop and workshop in Rémelfing.

Your story?

Your career path, the encounters you had, how did your activity come about?

Until a few years ago, I was a dental assistant. Originally from the Paris region, I arrived in Sarreguemines in 2014. To tell the truth, I haven’t always had a green thumb. The first plants my mother gave me were geraniums to embellish my balcony in Paris. I then discovered the benefits of caring for plants, such as pleasure, well-being and relaxation. As time went by, orchids and other varieties took their place in my flat and a real passion was born. I have decorated and flowered events for friends and family. Self-taught at the beginning, I did a lot of research in books and on the Internet. I got in touch with specialised people who gave me advice and with whom I could exchange ideas.

I then followed a training course to obtain my diploma, which I completed with a training course in scenography and event decoration specialising in floral art. Then I started my own business, with the support of my family. It’s been two years now that I’ve had the chance to practice this profession that I love and in which I feel fulfilled. At the beginning, I opened my workshop in a cottage next to my house in Rémelfing and a few months ago, I opened my shop, where each floral creation is handmade on the spot.

Your world?

Poetic, natural, delicate, garden style, as if the plants had grown there. Each composition is made respecting the lines of the plants.

What inspires you?

My children, nature during a walk in the forest, reading, poetry. Sometimes I can read a sentence in a book and this sentence will inspire me to create a universe.

Your creations, your services?

In the shop, I offer a wide range of plants and different varieties of flowers, some of which are quite rare like this orchid or this kalanchoe, as well as stabilised plant frames and dried flower crowns. I don’t have a preference for one or the other, each composition has its place, everything is beautiful.
All the products in the shop are fully customisable. I create floral arrangements that can be used as a model or as a basis to be arranged according to the sensitivity of each person in the association of colours and flowers. I also offer creations from local artisans that I will add to my arrangements or that are sold individually.

I also accompany my clients on different occasions, for personal events (themed birthdays, weddings, christenings, baby showers, mourning) or professional events (end of year parties, inaugurations for example). The floral decoration and the scenography are made to measure, according to the desires or the atmosphere of the place. We start together with an element and I imagine a universe around it.

What characterises your products?

Each composition has a soul. I create with a lot of love and emotion. I pay a lot of attention to people’s needs, wishes and stories in order to offer them products that are as unique as they are, made on the spot in my workshop. Every little detail is taken into account.

I also have an eco-responsible approach. I favour seasonality, quality and locality in the choice of flowers and plants, with great care in the purchase of supplies and waste management.

What about tomorrow?

I would like to develop the event side of my business and be eco-responsible by growing my own flowers. I will soon be offering a new service for ordering fresh flowers on my online shop, with the possibility of choosing a seasonal bouquet of flowers, its colour palette and its size.

You have to appreciate what you have and enjoy every moment. That’s happiness!
