JOURNÉES DU PATRIMOINE - MUSÉE DE LA FAÏENCE

Throughout the weekend, the Museums team will give you a 5-10 minute tour on the history of a work of art, a favourite.

Jeanne, a Lorraine icon at the Faïencerie de Sarreguemines :

The image of the Lorraine icon is omnipresent in all areas of daily life, in both secular and religious forms, in school books, in printed images, in stained glass windows, through the numerous statues present in public spaces... The Sarreguemines Faience Factory is no exception in developing, throughout its history, a rich production in the image of Joan of Arc. These works perfectly illustrate the know-how acquired by the Sarreguemines earthenware makers, while at the same time showing the diversity of representations and appropriations of this great national figure during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Sarreguemines in the service of tobacco:

This exhibition proposed by the Association "Sarreguemines Passions" presents the tobacco, cigar and match pots produced in Sarreguemines or Digoin in the 19th and 20th centuries. Used in shops or by private individuals to preserve tobacco, some of these objects are on display to the public for the first time.
